BARBY MOSCOSO

Barbara "Barby" Moscoso was born in Santiago, Chile. Starting her artistic endeavors in figure rollerskating, she one day accompanied a friend to a casting for a televised dance group and was selected based on her natural talent, having never studied dance herself. Her earliest dance training occurred at the age of 14 under the tutelage of Sergio Valero Guzman, one of the most celebrated instructors and choreographers in South America, and Osvaldo Montiel Gomez, the director of Danza Valero, the premier school of professional development in "Danza Espectaculo" or performance dance in Chile. Continuing her passion for dance into her university studies at UNIACC, the Chilean National University of Arts and Communications, Barbara received her Bachelor's Degree in Dance and Choreography following 4 years of intense study in numerous dance styles and technical aspects of production. In 2010, Barbara received a scholarship to study under Daniel Lugo, one of the most celebrated choreographers of Puerto Rico and a leader in the Latin Pop and Reggaeton industry. This scholarship led to a United States extraordinary talent visa which allowed Barby to move to Miami in 2014 and then to Los Angeles in 2016 where she currently dances with Go 2 Talent agency with permanent residence in the U.S. Since she was 14, Barby has participated in a long list of televised dance productions, including being selected for the Clan Rojo from 2003-2004 where she performed multiple numbers every weekday, and "Fiebre de Baile" (the Chilean version of "Dancing with the Stars") which she won in two separate seasons. Most recently, Barbara participated in "Mira Quien Baila" on Univision as one of only five professional female dancers. In total, Barby has over 1,000 hours of screen time in her televised dance career. In additional to televised work, Barbara has toured with multiple artists, most notably as dance captain for Grammy-nominated Luis Fonsi (Somos Uno Tour, 2015), Latin Grammy-nominated artists Maluma (Pretty Boy, Dirty Boy World Tour, 2016-2017) and Farruko (Los Menores Tour, 2015). Performing in front of a large audience has been part of Barby's life since she began dancing as part of the dance corps for the Festival de Viña del Mar (Chile) in 2005. Barbara has danced in this "Festival de Viña" every year since, with the exception of 2017. This festival is recognized throughout Latin America as the largest single-stage music festival (150,000 attendees for each of 6 nights), televised world-wide and viewed by nearly 100 million viewers each year. Barbara has performed in over 15 countries and in some of the most important artistic venues including Madison Square Garden, the Coliseo of Puerto Rico, the Staples Center, and the American Airlines Arena in Miami. Barby has been a staple in recent years in some of the most important music awards ceremonies including the American Music Awards, Latin Grammys, Latin Billboard Awards, Premios Juventud, Premios Lo Nuestro, and Premios tu Mundo. You can now see Barby dancing in awards shows or traveling to teach masters classes in Latin America
